Frequently Asked Questions
HOW MANY INVITATIONS SHOULD I ORDER?
We recommend ordering 1 invitation per household, not per guest.
And allow 10% extra for keepsakes or late addition guests.
WHEN SHOULD I BE BOOKING AND SENDING OUT MY INVITATIONS?
Save the dates should be sent out between 9-12 months before your wedding date.
Ideally when you have secured your venue.
Invitations should be sent out between 6-8 weeks before your wedding date.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SEMI-CUSTOM AND CUSTOM?
Semi-custom collections are pre-designed, that are ready to be customised with your wording,
print method and colour palette. See more about how the semi-custom process works here.
Custom stationery is where we work together to create one-of-a kind stationery
for you and your wedding.

DO YOU SELL SAMPLES?
Yes, of course! We have samples in our shop to purchase before booking your stationery.
IS THERE A MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY?
Yes, our minimum order for all printing is 40 items of stationery.
For intimate weddings, there will be an extra cost to reach the minimums.
WILL MY INVITATIONS ARRIVE ASSEMBLED, READY TO BE POSTED?
If you would like them assembled, please discuss this upon booking.
We charge £50 per 25 invitations.
CAN YOU ASSEMBLE MY ON THE DAY STATIONERY - PLACE CARDS/MENU PER TABLE?
Yes we can! If you would like this, we charge a flat fee of £120.
CAN YOU DO RUSH ORDERS?
We can offer this, however dependant on current workload.
For an extra fee of 30% of the overall quote.
WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
Hold Studio is based in London, United Kingdom
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Yes! We can deliver all our stationery worldwide, and we use DHL International
for customers not based in the UK.
WHAT COURIER/DELIVERY SERVICE DO YOU USE FOR UK DELIVERIES?
For couples based in London, we have nominated a same day courier called Gophr.
Where we can both track the delivery.
For couples based outside of London, we use Royal Mail special delivery.
If you are local, you are welcome to collect!
WHAT PAPER DO YOU USE?
For our digital and white ink print orders, we use high quality 350gsm uncoated cardstock.
For our letterpress and hot foil orders, we print on 540gsm.
Our premium diamond flap envelopes are 135gsm.
I'VE DESIGNED MY STATIONERY - CAN YOU PRINT IT FOR ME?
We only offer semi-custom and custom stationery, and cannot print pre-designed artwork.
CAN YOU SHOW ME HOW MY STATIONERY WILL LOOK BEFORE ORDERING?
We will only start the design process when the deposit is paid, so unfortunately not.
CAN I SEE A PHYSICAL COPY BEFORE GOING TO PRINT?
Unfortunately, we do not offer this. We ensure that all artwork supplied before
going to print has the maximum amount of detail so you are aware of
what your stationery will look like once delivered.
I'VE SEEN STATIONERY I LIKE, COULD YOU COPY IT?
We will under no circumstance copy another stationers designs for any order.
If you like another stationers work, please use them for your wedding!
CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT FONTS YOU USE?
We will not reveal what fonts we use for any design. If you like one of our designs,
please get in touch for a quote.
I LIKE YOUR ADDITIONAL EXTRAS, BUT WE HAVEN'T BOOKED YOU FOR OUR STATIONERY
- ARE YOU ABLE TO DO THIS?
Unfortunately not, we can only produce our additional extras if you buy one of our suites.
This includes our envelope liners, embossed envelopes and guest addressing.
Returns & Cancellations
In the event of an order being cancelled by yourselves, Hold Studio London will not
refund any monies paid to date after the project has been commenced.
As all orders are custom made to order, all stationery is not eligible
for exchange or return under any circumstances.
